What helps us give you a fast, accurate quote
- Your suburb, so the job goes to someone nearby.
- The current system: fuel (electric, gas, heat pump, solar), size in litres or flow rate if you can see it, and its approximate age.
- What is happening: no hot water, lukewarm water, a leak, a dripping valve, tripping power, strange noises.
- Photos: the whole unit, its data or compliance plate, the pipes at the bottom, and the space around it.
- Access: whether the unit is outside, in a cupboard, in the roof space or on a mezzanine.
- For businesses: whether you lease the premises, and who is responsible for the water heater under the lease.
If water is leaking now
Turn off the cold water isolation valve at the inlet to the hot water system, and turn off the power at the switchboard (electric) or the gas at the unit (gas). If you cannot find the isolation valve, turn off the water at the main meter. Then call. If you smell gas, turn off the gas at the meter if safe, keep away from flames and switches, and call the gas network's emergency line.
